The 2018 Porsche 911
The 2018 Porsche 911 is the latest in a long and prestigious Carrera model line. Since 1963, the 911 has represented the very pinnacle of accessible and unadulterated road-going performance.
The 2018 Porsche 911 is available in a number of trim levels and body styles. The standard model is the rear-wheel drive Carrera coupe, which is available with a higher-performance S version or an even more powerful GTS version. Each model is offered as an open-top Cabriolet or with all-wheel drive (AWD), denoted by the number “4”—for instance, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet is the AWD, convertible variant of the regular Carrera. To add to this are Targa models with a retractable hardtop available only with AWD, as well as Turbo and Turbo S variants also available only with AWD. Also available are the ultra high performance GT3 and GT2 RS variants, both of which are extremely limited in availability.
Regardless of the model you choose, power and poise are constants in the 2018 Porsche 911. At minimum the Carrera makes 370 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque out of a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged boxer six-cylinder engine. In the Turbo S, 0.8 extra liters of displacement get you 580 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The track-focused GT2 RS makes 700 horsepower and set a new world record lap time around the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
For all the performance it offers, at the end of the day the 2018 Porsche 911 is a road car first and a track car second, which is why it also offers an abundance of luxury features. These include grained leather upholstery with Alcantara® roof lining, a 12-speaker, high-end surround sound system by Burmester®, the Porsche Connect module with build-in Wi-Fi, Porsche Services with real-time traffic information and the ample capabilities of the Porsche Communication Management infotainment system.
With over 20 different trims and body styles available, there is a 911 available for your tastes.
