Where is Porsche Made?

2020 Porsche Macan

As every driver in Birmingham knows, Porsche is renowned for its luxury performance vehicles. From the legendary Porsche 911 sports car to the versatile Macan and Cayenne SUVs, every Porsche model exemplifies sophisticated engineering. But where are these world-class vehicles manufactured? Where is Porsche made? What countries is Porsche made in? Since Ferdinand Porsche founded the company in 1931, almost all Porsche cars have been produced in Germany. But that doesn’t mean that all of their locations are in Germany, instead Porsche is a global company, with offices in a number of countries. Discover more about what country Porsche is made in, as well as more information, then visit Fred Lavery Porsche Company to experience the thrill of driving a new Porsche today!

Where is Porsche Made: Headquarters and Factories

  • Zuffenhausen – The Porsche headquarters and main factory are located in Zuffenhausen, a district of Stuttgart, Germany. This is the site of the first Porsche production model; here is where all Porsche sports cars and engines continue to be manufactured. Both the racing models and standard production models are built on the same production line. No other automaker does this. The management team, logistics group, and quality management division are also all located in Zuffenhausen.

  • Leipzig – Located in the German state of Sachsen, Leipzig is home to a second Porsche factory where the Panamera and the Macan are made. Also in Leipzig is a 3.7 km, FIA-certified racetrack and off-road track, where event guests and visitors can experience the exhilaration of Porsche performance first-hand.
  • Weissach – Since 1971, the Porsche Research and Development Center has been located in Weissach, Germany. The site is currently being expanded and upgraded. Soon, you’ll find a state-of-the-art design studio, a wind tunnel, and an electronics integration center.
  • Ludwigsburg – The international After Sales department has their offices in Ludwigsburg, Germany.
  • Sachsenheim – This is where the Porsche parts warehouse is located. There are about 85,000 different Porsche parts available at any given time.
  • Bietigheim-Bissingen – The majority of the Porsche subsidiaries are located here, including Porsche Consulting, Porsche Financial Services, Porsche Engineering Group, Porsche Deutschland, and Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft.
  • Bratislava – Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is home to the factory that produces the Cayenne. However, for the Malaysian market only, there is also a factory in Malaysia that produces Porsche Cayenne as well.
  • Shanghai – Another brand of the Porsche Research and Development center is located here in China.
